Preserve Your Ink and Your Health.
Proper aftercare performed by you is as essential as your artist sterilizing their equipment.
This continued treatment not only preserves the quality of the ink, but ensures that your skin heals properly over time after suffering sustained damaged.
You should continue all care procedures as described by your artist until the piece has healed entirely.
Wash, Pat, Dry, Apply Ointment+
Your artist will bandage your today immediately following the appointment.
This is to cover up the wounds and absorb any lingering blood from the tattoo procedure.
Once you’re able to remove the bandage, up to 24 hours later, you should gently wash the area with warm water and antibacterial soap several times throughout the day.
Pat dry afterward to retain moisture, and utilize antibacterial ointment and moisturizing sealant to make sure your skin doesn’t acquire an infection or dry out while it heals.
You may need to repeat this process every day for up to a month depending on the size of your tattoo.
Finally, if you want to preserve the look of your tattoo.
You should regularly apply moisturizer and sunscreen.
Your tattoo is inevitably going to fade and lose its shiny luster as skin cells constantly die and replace themselves.
You can delay this process by taking care of your skin.
Washing
Gently wash the affected area several times a day with soap and warm water. Do not scrub the area dry, but simply pat down.
Ointment
Antibacterial ointment keeps the possibility of infection away even when you're not freshly washing your tattooed area.
Moisturizing
Moisturizing sealant and cream locks in water so that your skin doesn't otherwise dry out. It also prevents the ink from fading.
